A3

Wrapup

Major selling points of A3 are interior quality, gadgetry and driving pleasure. Its an entrant variant to enter the Audi world and have first hand experience of Audi's engineering. It has a lot of potential for the Indian market which has younger buyers for entry level luxury cars although it's priced slightly on the higher side.

Quick Review

Aimed to grow the luxury car market share of this German auto mogul, Audi entered a new player in its India lineup which now sits even before its initial sedan offering the A4. On the flesh, it is very hard to differentiate this sedan from its bigger sibling but once you to take a close look, its compact dimensions speaks for itself. Audi made a smart move by diving into the pie of entry level luxury sedan which is majorly eaten by the Accord’s, Camry’s and now its own sibling Octavia. Based on the same MQB platform from Volkswagen, the A3 shares a lot with the new Skoda Octavia but the similarity just ends here. On the outside, the addition of four rings on the front grille makes it in the league of elite’s. Running fine creases onto its bonnet, the front trapezoidal single frame grille remains the same with black horizontal slats housing the Audi badge at the centre. The top of the line variants gets Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights which are typical Audi. To give this compact luxury sedan a sporty silhouette, Audi also offers its S line sports package that jazzes up the front bumper with sporty pseudo air dams along with an extended lip front spoiler while you also get S line badging along with a rear diffuser and S line side grills as a part of the package. Continuing with its sporty stance, the sloping coupe styled roofline does the job perfectly along with a strong shoulder line onto the sides that does highlight its length. Its coupe styling is well mated to a fine crease onto the boot lid that creates a typical Audi appearance along with the wraparound LED split tail lights. Covered with black cladding on the lower end of the rear bumper, you also get neatly placed reflectors that completes its executive yet sporty look on the outside. Overall, the A3 is nothing new when it comes to design but what it does brilliantly is capture the essence of Audi’s styling in a well executed compact package.
