A6

Wrapup

A strong competitor to E Class and 5 Series, A6 has lots of equipment and is nice to drive. Interiors are at par with its contemporaries while possessing good cabin ambiance. New aluminum and steel chassis helps it remain agile and also a capable cruiser. However, it lacks wider choice of engine options.

Quick Review

The Audi A6 sits quite comfortably between its bigger sibling the A8 and younger A4 but it never created a buzz in the market for its overall package when pitted against these popular cousins. Initially, the A6 fell behind in offering anything unique in design and performance and was mostly considered to be an upmarket cousin of the A4 and a toned down A8. Well, with the introduction of its fourth generation, things might shake up for this mid luxury offering from Audi as it gets a host of new features on the outside and inside. One of the striking details, which although Audi is now incorporating in almost all its models, is the Matrix headlamp cluster which makes it quite unique to look at. The new LED Matrix cluster is not only meant to improve aesthetics but it offers state of the art lighting system on Day and Night clubbed with a camera and unique individual LEDs that are set up in a matrix geometry. The result; you get an adaptive headlight mechanism that adjusts automatically depending on the terrain and time of travel. That along with its large front grille that incorporates as many as eight chrome slats houses the Audi logo at the top. The sporty black fins on the airdam neatly wraps the front fog lamps that does make its stature more aggressive. On the side, a crisp character line runs all the way on its shoulders from the front headlamps to the tail lamps. Its sharp design can be easily noted through the shadow lines running above the side skirts which matches up on to the rear bumper. The tail light cluster also gets the new LED design set that now houses smart dynamic indicators with the LED strip flowing in the direction where you would turn. The A6 however still remains a sophisticated drive from Audi which is evident on the exterior features such as the mature 5 V-spoke 18 inch rims, an electric slide and tilt sunroof, heat insulating glass, chrome tipped dual muffler set that makes it very stylish and yet elegant at the same time.
